Configuring a Microsoft Outlook profile for HTMO

Create a new profile in Microsoft™ Outlook that syncs with your HCL Notes® mail.

Before you begin

Install HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook.

About this task

You must use one profile for the mail client and the client must be the primary account in the profile.

Note: If your account has already been set up by an administrator, simply launching Outlook will present you with a password prompt, and you can ignore this Help topic.

Procedure

  1. To begin the setup, complete the steps that apply to your situation:
Table 1. Steps to begin setup
    Situation Steps
You previously set up IMSMO and are migrating to HTMO. If you have an existing IMSMO profile and want to upgrade to HTMO, complete the following steps:
    1. Run one of the following commands:
      • Open a browser or Windows File Explorer, and enter this command in the address input area:
        htmo:migrate_profile?profile=[ProfileName]
      • Open a Windows Command Prompt, navigate to the HTMO install location ("C:\Program Files\HCL\HCL Traveler for MS Outlook") and run this command:
        htmo_tools.exe url "htmo:migrate_profile?profile=[ProfileName]"
    2. If migration was successful, a popup window stating "Success!" appears. Close the popup window, start Microsoft Outlook, and select the migrated profile. The first time Outlook runs, it begins to sync all the folders, mail, calendar and contact information.

If you do not see the "Success!" popup window, the IMSMO profile cannot be migrated, so you must delete it. Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles..., then highlight the profile which failed migration and hit Remove. You can then follow the instructions below to add a new profile for HTMO.
