Migrating from IMSMO to HTMO

If you are migrating from IBM Mail Support for Microsoft Outlook (IMSMO) to HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook (HTMO), be aware that the Outlook profile created for IMSMO cannot be used by HTMO. HTMO provides a tool to migrate an IMSMO profile to an HTMO profile. You can also delete the IMSMO profile and create an HTMO profile from scratch. For more information, see Configuring a Microsoft Outlook profile for HTMO.

Also be aware that the mail datastore used by IMSMO cannot be used by HTMO, so all mail, calendar, contact, and todo information will have to resync to the client after the migration. The user will see this as a delay during the initial sync after the HTMO installation. If many clients are migrating at the same time, the initial sync delays may be even greater, because of increased processing and network traffic during the initial syncs.

Complete the following steps:
  1. Download and run the HTMO installer. For more information, see Downloading the mail client and Installing HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Create a new profile for HTMO. For more information, see Configuring a Microsoft Outlook profile for HTMO.
  3. Once verified that your new HTMO profile is functional, delete your old IMSMO profile.
