IBM® Sametime® consists of a variety of servers and clients, and can be deployed to suit many different environments. The deployment instructions are organized by feature set, beginning with the minimum components that are necessary to support instant messaging, and then expanding the deployment to include features such as audio and video support, and conferencing.
Deploying audio and video
Audio and video features are provided primarily by the IBM® Sametime® Media Manager, which supports point-to-point and multipoint calls. The Sametime Media Manager uses standard audio and video codecs so that it works with products from other audio and video vendors.
Installing Sametime® Media Manager
The IBM® Sametime® Media Manager is an optional component that runs on a WebSphere® Application Server and provides audio and video features for a Sametime deployment. It requires a Sametime Community Server. You must complete a guided activity for every component, which creates a deployment plan for the installation program. You must have a deployment plan for every Media Manager component before you start installing any component.
Configuring a Sametime® Media Manager
This section describes how to configure the components of the Sametime® Media Manager.
Adding the SIP Proxy/Registrar domain name to the domains list
Add the IBM® Sametime® SIP Proxy/Registrar's fully qualified domain name or IP address to the domains list. If the SIP Proxy/Registrar is clustered, add the Load Balancer's fully qualified host name or IP address instead of the SIP Proxy/Registrar's domain name or IP address.

Add the IBM® Sametime® SIP Proxy/Registrar's fully qualified domain name or IP address to the domains list. If the SIP Proxy/Registrar is clustered, add the Load Balancer's fully qualified host name or IP address instead of the SIP Proxy/Registrar's domain name or IP address.

About this task

When specifying the domain name or IP address of the Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar or Load Balancer, specify the same value you used in the SIPProxyServerHost attribute in the stavconfig.xml file. The value you enter in the Domain field, must match the value in the SIPProxyServerHost attribute in the stavconfig.xml file.

Procedure

Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console.
Click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > SIP Proxies and Registrars.
Click the Deployment Name of the SIP Proxy server.
In SIP Proxy and Registrar, click Handled Domains.
To add a domain which will be handled by the SIP Proxy/Registrar, enter the fully qualified domain name or IP address in the Domain field. Be sure to use the same value that is used in the SIPProxyServerHost attribute in the stavconfig.xml file.
Note: In step 5, If the SIP Proxy/Registrar is clustered, add the cluster's virtual address that is set in the load balancer software.
Click Add.
