Release 11.6.4

Release 11.6.4 includes the following new features.

  • Notifications display for new chat messages while in a meeting

With the previous releases, when the user is in a meeting, and a new chat message arrives, the unread number next to the back arrow on the Meeting UI increments. This lets the user know there is a new chat message but it requires the user to back out of the meeting into PiP mode to see who the message is from. With this release, we continue to update the unread count but we also post notifications so the user knows who sent the message without having to enter PiP mode.

  • Save Meeting Passwords

The user can now securely save a meeting password for quicker meeting joins. An administrator can disable this feature with the im.mobile.disablePasswordSave user policy.

  • Performance Improvements

Chats now load quicker without excessive scrolling.

  • New Switch to Dial-in menu

When in a meeting, the user can use the overflow menu to switch to dial-in if the meeting supports it. This is useful when network coverage is not strong enough to support the meeting audio over a data connection. Switching to dial-in will leave the meeting and dial in using the telephone network.

  • New Driving Mode

A new Driving mode option is designed for mobile users who do not have an automobile that supports CarPlay. When in a meeting, we detect the switch to Bluetooth audio, a prompt is sent to the user to switch to driving mode. The driving mode resembles the CarPlay display with oversized buttons for easy muting, leaving, and switching to dial-in. There is also a display for who is currently talking in the meeting. Users can also switch to driving mode at any time by using the meeting overflow menu.

  • CarPlay Update
The CarPlay display now displays the name of the participant who is talking in a meeting.
Note: With 11.6.4, it is still recommended that Sametime be logged in and in the foreground when you connect to CarPlay to join a meeting.
