Updating icons with Restyle

Restyle now provides updated action and view icons.

Action icons

When you restyle an application, if you have selected Update standard action and view icons, actions that use standard Notes action icons will instead use a new set of updated icons. The meanings of the icons have been mapped, such that the icon chosen pre-Restyle retains the same meaning after Restyle.

Restyled action icons may be selected for applications that are not restyled. Previously, restyled applications received updated action icons. Beginning with this release, these icons are available to applications whether or not they have been restyled (Action Bar > Button Properties > Use restyled icons).

When Use restyled icons is selected for an action bar, when you choose "Notes" for an icon type for an action, the updated icons displayed in the following graphic are available as options. Each icon is an updated version of the corresponding icon available if Use restyled icons is not checked.

View icons

Restyle changes the selection indicator in views if the restyle setting Update standard action and view icons is selected.

Rather than the familiar checkmark, selection is now shown with checkboxes - indicating both the selected and unselected states. If the restyle setting is not selected, the selection indicator is not updated.

The following image displays the selection indicator when Update standard action and view icons is selected:

This feature is also available as a View property (style tab) in Designer, so it can be selected even for applications that have not been restyled, or unselected after restyle if it is not what is needed.

Select Use checkboxes for selection to apply the selection updates.

If the application has been restyled, the checkboxes will be the application color; otherwise, the checkboxes will be blue.
