Main tab

In the Main tab of the backup configuration, complete the following fields.

Field Description
Status Select Enabled
Config type Select one of the following:
  • Default to apply the backup configuration to multiple servers. If selected, in the Platform field, narrow the configuration to apply to servers on a specific platform or apply it to servers on all platforms.
  • Server to apply the backup configuration to a specific server. If selected, specify the Domino name of the server, and optionally a node name for the server. By default, the node name is the common name of the Domino server.
Excluded databases (pattern) Use this to exclude databases from backup. If not specified, all databases on a server are backed up. To exclude databases, use regular expressions as defined for @matches operations. For example, *.ntf or restore/*.nsf .

To specify multiple entries in this field, specify each on a new line.

You can customize exclusion patterns using the -e and -E arguments with the Backup task.

Backup target dir databases Specify the target directory path in which to put database backups, for example, /local/backup/nsf.
Backup target dir translog: Specify the target directory path in which to put transaction log (TXN) files, for example, /local/backup/translog.
Backup log dir Specify the target directory path on which to put log files, for example, /local/backup/log.
Log OS command output Select Errors only (default) to log only errors when operations fail. Select All output to instead log all output in an attachment to the backup or restore document. If no output is generated, no attachment is written.
Backup retention (days) Specify the number of days to retain backed up databases before deleting them. Default is controlled by the Global Configuration document.
