z/OS® Extensions is a component of IBM® Rational® ClearCase® that enables mainframe users to perform select DevOps Code ClearCase operations. z/OS Extensions include Remote Build, TSO Client, and ClearCase RAM (CCRAM).

You can configure options for authenticating users to the TSO Client server.

The TSO Client server verifies user IDs and passwords through the Windows® or UNIX® log on procedure.

The following table describes server authentication modes for TSO Client.

Table 1. TSO Client authentication modes
Mode	Description
0	No user authentication. The user ID that starts rccTSOServer is used for authentication. This user ID is the owner of an element when a checkout occurs.
2	The user ID and password, passed by the client, are required. The user ID entered in TSO Client panel 1, Distributed user specification, is the owner of an element when a checkout occurs.
