Configuring rccTSOServer on UNIX for user authentication

This topic explains how to set up the UNIX® environment for the TSO Client server for proper user authentication.

Before you begin

For a description of authentication modes, see Authentication modes for TSO Client.

About this task

To use authentication mode 0 in rccTSOServer, the server component of the DevOps Code ClearCase® TSO Client, rccTSOServer, can be started by any valid DevOps Code ClearCase user. In this mode, rccTSOServer does not impersonate any other user in DevOps Code ClearCase operations. All the operations are accounted to the user who started the rccTSOServer.

To use authentication mode 2, rccTSOServer must be started by the root of the system. Every user who logs on to TSO Client must have write permission for the working directory. If the rccTSOServer is to be run in a production environment, authentication mode 2 is recommended.
