Specifying returns to the fulfillment center

After a product is added to a return, the system determines whether the customer returns the product by indicating the status as a Yes or No value.

About this task

Products that are returned to the fulfillment center based on:
  • The nature of the product. For example, broken glassware cannot be returned. In this case, select No as the return to fulfillment center status.
  • The condition of the product. For example, if glassware is returned because the customer changed their mind, select Yes as the return to fulfillment center status. However, if the customer wants to return the glassware because it arrived broken, the glassware cannot be returned to the fulfillment center to be sold to another customer. In this case, select No as the return to fulfillment center status.

To specify whether a product needs to return to a fulfillment center:

Procedure

  1. Open HCL Commerce Accelerator
  2. Find the return that you want to work with.
  3. Open the Change Return notebook by selecting the check box next to the return that you want to work with, and click Change.
  4. When you open the notebook, the Products page is displayed. Select the check box next to the product with which you want to work.
  5. Specify whether a product must be returned to a fulfillment center, as follows:
    Note: If you override a product that was previously determined as not to be returned to the fulfillment center, then the return must be manually approved. A user with authority such as the Customer Service Supervisor can approve the change.
    • If the product was purchased individually (not part of a kit), from the Return to Fulfillment Center column, select Yes or No. Your selection indicates whether the selected product must be returned to the fulfillment center.
    • If the product was purchased as part of a kit perform the following task:
      1. Select the check box next to the product with which you want to work and click Kit Details. The Kit Details dialog opens, providing information about the kit name, SKU, and the individual products within the kit.
      2. From the Return to Fulfillment Center column, select Yes or No to indicate whether the selected product must be returned to the fulfillment center.
  6. To make other changes to this return, use the links on the left side to switch between each returns page. To save your changes and close the notebook, click OK.
