Uninstalling HCL Commerce Developer Update Packages (interactive method)

You can uninstall HCL Commerce Developer Update Packages by using the IBM Installation Manager that you used to install HCL Commerce Developer.

Procedure

  1. Open the IBM Installation Manager.
  2. Select an appropriate option:

    Uninstall
    • If you installed HCL Commerce Developer and an Update Package at the same time, this option removes both the Update Package and HCL Commerce Developer.
    • If you installed an Update Package after you installed HCL Commerce Developer, use the Roll Back option.
    Roll Back Roll back reverses updates. If you used the Update option to apply an Update Package, then use this option to uninstall the update and roll back to a saved state. HCL Commerce Developer is not uninstalled. If you did not save your state before the update, the IBM Installation Manager repositories list needs the repository.config of the previous version. To specify the location:
    1. Select Roll Back.
    2. On the Roll Back Packages page, choose the HCL Commerce Developer package group that contains the Update Package that you want to roll back from.
    3. Click Next.
    4. Select the Update Package version that you want to roll back to and click Next. Review the summary information that is presented on the page.
    5. Click Roll Back.
  3. On the Uninstall Packages page, select the Update Package that you want to uninstall and click Next.
  4. Review the summary information that is presented on the page. Click Uninstall.
  5. Restore the database backup to the point where it was before you applied the update.

What to do next

Republish the application:
  1. Open HCL Commerce Developer and switch to the Enterprise Explorer view.
  2. In the Explorer view, select all projects and select File > Refresh (or the F5 keyboard shortcut) to refresh the projects in the workspace.
  3. HCL Commerce Version 9.0.0.1 only(Optional) If you enabled workspaces in HCL Commerce Developer Version 9.0.0.0 and you just installed Version 9.0.0.1, complete the following steps for workspaces to function in 9.0.0.1.
    1. Open the Administration console, and go to Application Server > server > Process definition > Java Virtual Machine. server is the name of your server, and the default value is server1.
    2. In the Generic JVM argument field of the Configuration tab, add the following string.
      -DWorkspaceTaskListEnabled=true
    3. Save your changes to the master configuration.
  4. Start or restart the test server
  5. Right-click the test server in the Servers view and select Publish.
  6. Wait for the application to finish publishing and to restart.
