  - HCL Commerce assemblies
    HCL Commerce consists of two offerings, HCL Commerce Professional, and HCL Commerce Enterprise. Each version of each edition of HCL Commerce is an offering. HCL Commerce Developer is a separate offering that is used by developers of the platform. It can be used to develop for the corresponding version of both HCL Commerce Professional and HCL Commerce Enterprise. Each offering is logically divided into subpackages called electronic assemblies, or eAssemblies. An eAssembly is a group of software that is devoted to a particular platform or environment. Each eAssembly contains the individual product images for that environment, called parts. Which parts you need depends on your usage and configuration choices.

HCL Commerce Version 9.0.0.1

HCL Commerce Developer update overview

Releases for HCL Commerce Version 9.0 environments are delivered as compressed .pak archive file that contain new and changed files. Releases can include code fixes, security fixes, new features, or enhancements.

The following list describes key features of HCL Commerce Developer releases:

Delivered as compressed .zip archives, available from HCL License and Delivery portal.
Each new mod pack release is an accumulation of the previous updates, plus new fixes and enhancements. For example, HCL Commerce 9.0.1.3 contains all changes from 9.0.1.1 and 9.0.1.2.
A mod pack release is the only mechanism that HCL uses to deliver features and fixes. Interim fixes are not provided.
HCL intends to release updates quarterly, or more frequently if security vulnerabilities are identified. The timing and frequency is not guaranteed and can change without notice at the sole discretion of HCL.
New features, or enhancements to existing features, that can affect your custom code are disabled by default.
Fixes to co-requisite software (WebSphere Application Server and WebSphere Liberty) are your responsibility in the HCL Commerce Developer environment. Ensure that the co-requisite software programs are at the same level as in the Docker containers of the runtime environment.

To update HCL Commerce Developer environments, use IBM Installation Manager to install the new release on top of an existing HCL Commerce Developer installation. For more detailed information and steps, review the following topics.

Important: HCL Commerce Developer Version 9.0 supports upgrades from any version to version 9.0.1 directly, with the exception of version 9.0.0.8 and 9.0.0.9. If you are on either of these versions, you can upgrade to 9.0.1.1.
