Troubleshooting: Mapped network drive is invalid

You receive a message that states a mapped network drive is invalid when you attempt to set a mapped network drive for a remote Web server.


When the Configuration Manager server is started from the Windows Services panel, it might not accept the mapped network drive location of a Web server.


If this occurs, start Configuration Manager from command prompt instead of from the Windows Services panel:
  1. Exit Configuration Manager and ensure that the Configuration Manager server service is stopped.
  2. Start the Configuration Manager from a command prompt session by issuing the following command:
