VOB Tag Browser

The VOB Tag Browser lists the VOB tags for all registered VOBs. It supports the following menus:

Directory selector

Use the directory selector under the menu icons to list type objects in a different VOB. The directory selector displays the VOB tags of the VOBs mounted on your host. To display type objects in a different VOB, click the arrow next to the directory selector and click a VOB tag.

File menu

The File menu contains the following commands that control the graphical user interface.

Force on this browser
Updates HCL VersionVault information on this browser only.
Update browsers
Updates HCL VersionVault information on all browser displays. By default, all browsers are updated after each File Browser command runs, and when you remain inactive for 15 seconds.
New file browser
Starts another File Browser in a new window.
Close window
Closes current browser window.

VOB menu

The VOB menu contains the following commands to perform operations on a specified versioned object base (VOB):

Create
Creates and registers a VOB.
Destroy
Removes a VOB storage directory and all relevant entries from the network VOB registry.
Describe
Lists information on the object that represents the VOB itself, for example, its storage area, creation date, owner, and related views. (This command is available if the VOB is mounted.)
Space
Reports on disk space use for views, VOBs, file-system files or directories.
List Replicas
Lists information about all VOB-replica objects recorded in the VOB database of the currently selected replica. (This command is available if the VOB is mounted.)
List VOBs on host
Lists registry entries for VOBs whose storage directories reside on the workstation that you specify.
List VOBs matching pattern
Lists registry entries for VOBs whose VOB tag entries match the string that you specify in the VOB tag pattern window.

Locks menu

The Locks menu contains commands that let you list lock-related information and place a type object in a state that disables certain operations on the object. Locking or unlocking a global type or one of its local copies locks or unlocks the global type and all local copies.

Generally, locking a pool inhibits commands that create or remove the pool data containers and prevents the pool scrubbing parameters from being modified. Other effects of locking a pool depend on the kind of pool.

Lock
Creates a lock on the selected type objects for all users.

Locking a VOB does not lock the cleartext storage pools.

Lock (except some users)
Creates a lock on the selected type objects but allows access by certain users that you specify.
Obsolete
Creates a lock on the selected type objects for all users and makes the type objects obsolete.
Unlock
Removes an existing lock from the selected type objects.
Show lock
Lists the lock-related information for the selected type objects.
Show all locks in VOB
Available if the selected object is a VOB. Lists all locks of all type objects within the selected VOB.

Admin menu

The Admin menu contains the following commands for performing HCL VersionVault administrative functions on a VOB.

Mount
Activates at its VOB tag directory the VOB that you select in the browser list.
Mount all
Activates all public VOBs listed in the VOB registry for the network region your host.
Unmount
Deactivates the mounted VOBs that you select in the browser list.
Registry > Show registry info
