To merge versions using the Version Tree Browser

Procedure

  1. In the Version Tree Browser window, display the version tree for the element.
  2. Select a contributing version in the Version Tree Browser display.
  3. Click Tools > Merge to.
    The pointer changes to this:

A circle has a diagonal line running through it.

  4. Move the pointer over a potential merge target version.
    The pointer changes to this:

Concentric circles have two lines crossed at ninety degrees at their center. A black arrow points toward the center, like a bulls eye in an archery target.

Tip: At this point, you can right-click to cancel the merge.
  5. Click the version to which you want to merge the previously selected contributing version.
    The Merge Confirmation window opens.
  6. In the Do you want to perform a merge? pane, click Yes and then click OK to start the merge.
The merge of the two versions starts.
Tip: By default, the Diff Merge tool starts only if your input is required to complete the merge. If you want to force the Diff Merge tool to start and then complete the merge yourself through the graphical user interface (GUI), select Merge the element graphically.
