To undo a hijack

About this task

You can undo a hijack in the Snapshot View Update window of the Update Tool or using HCL VersionVault Windows Explorer or Windows Explorer.

To undo a hijack, perform either of the following actions:
  • To undo a hijack in the Snapshot View Update window, perform the following actions:
    1. Update the snapshot view that contains the hijacked files.
    2. In the Snapshot View Update window, click the Hijacked folder.
    3. In the right pane, select a hijacked file and click Tools > Undo Hijacked File.
  • To undo a hijack using VersionVault Windows Explorer or Windows Explorer, perform the following actions:
    1. In VersionVault Windows Explorer or Windows Explorer, right-click a hijacked file.
    2. In VersionVault Windows Explorer, click Undo Hijacked File or, in Windows Explorer, click VersionVault > Undo Hijacked File.

    When you undo a hijacked file, the hijacked file is renamed with a new extension, .keep, and the version that your view selects is loaded from the VOB.
