To choose components to load into snapshot views

About this task

If you choose to create any snapshot views, the Join Project wizard prompts you to choose the components to load. On Linux and the UNIX system, this is the last step.

To save disk space, to reduce the time needed for the initial loading operation, and to reduce time needed for rebase operations, clear the check box for any components that you do not need to complete your work.

To further refine the list of elements that are loaded into your view, you can do either of the following:
  • On UNIX systems or Linux, after the Join Project wizard creates your snapshot views, you can modify their load rules.
  • On Windows systems, select Start component browser after creating the view. With the Component Browser, you can specify individual directory and file elements to load.

On Linux and UNIX, if your development view is a snapshot view, select Load the development snapshot view now on this step of the wizard. When you finish the wizard, your development views are loaded with the elements that you selected.

On Windows systems, after you choose components to load into the view, the Join Project wizard displays your choices. When you confirm your choices and finish the wizard, the views are loaded with the elements that you selected. As files and directories are loaded into each view, a progress indicator is displayed in the Snapshot View Update window. The complete list of files copied into your view is displayed in the Snapshot View Update window.
