HCL VersionVault command reference
HCL VersionVault and HCL VersionVault MultiSite provide a command-line interface that enables access to all product functions. The command line processor supports interactive use, and can also be driven by various scripting languages.
Commands for developing software
These commands are used by software developers and others who work with resources that are under HCL VersionVault control. Most of the cleartool commands used by developers who use the VersionVault local client are also available as rcleartool commands for users of the VersionVault remote client.

These commands are used by developers working in both base VersionVault and UCM.

Synopsis

catcs [ –tag view-tag ]

Description

The catcs command displays a view's config spec. This command does not require a product license.

In a dynamic view, if the working directory view differs from the set view (sometimes established with the setview command), catcs displays a warning and uses the working directory view. You cannot set a snapshot view; therefore, there is no distinction between the working directory view and the set view.

Restrictions

None.

Options and arguments

Specifying the view

Default: Displays the config spec of the current view.
–tag view-tag: The view tag of any view; the view need not be active.

Examples

The UNIX system and Linux examples in this section are written for use in csh. If you use another shell, you may need to use different quoting and escaping conventions.

The Windows examples that include wildcards or quoting are written for use in cleartool interactive mode. If you use cleartool single-command mode, you may need to change the wildcards and quoting to make your command interpreter process the command appropriately.

In cleartool single-command mode, cmd-context represents the UNIX system and Linux shells or Windows command interpreter prompt, followed by the cleartool command. In cleartool interactive mode, cmd-context represents the interactive cleartool prompt.

Display the current view's config spec.
cmd-context catcs
element * CHECKEDOUT element * /main/LATEST
Display the config spec of the view with view tag jackson_fix.
cmd-context catcs -tag jackson_fix
element * CHECKEDOUT element * ...\rel2_bugfix\LATEST element * \main\LATEST -mkbranch rel2_bugfix
