Unica Deliver is a web-based, enterprise scale marketing message solution that you can use to conduct outbound bulk messaging and transactional messaging campaigns. Deliver integrates with Unica Campaign and with secure message composition, transmission, and tracking resources that are hosted by Unica.
Selecting email recipients
If you install and enable Unica Deliver within Campaign, then you can create a list that defines the recipients for a personalized messaging campaign. The list contains the recipient information that is used to address and personalize each message. You create a recipient list by configuring a Deliver process in a Campaign flowchart.
About working with existing recipient lists
After you define, save, and upload a recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT), you can update the list definition, update the data in the list, or delete the list. You can also manually clear data from a list that contains recipient data.

  If you install and enable Unica Deliver within Campaign, then you can create a list that defines the recipients for a personalized messaging campaign.     You create a recipient list by configuring a Deliver process and completing a production run of the flowchart that contains it. When the flowchart run completes, the system automatically uploads the list to the hosted messaging environment. Reference the list in a mailing configuration to make recipient data available for use in messages.

    A well-designed recipient list is critical to effectively personalizing your marketing messages. The design must consider the information that is available in your marketing database and the design requirements of the message that you plan to use with the list.

    To select recipients, you must add a Deliver process to a Campaign flowchart and complete a production run of the flowchart. You can use standard flowchart tools and logic to specify one or more cells as inputs to the Deliver process. You can select production recipients, test recipients, and select addresses for use in seed lists.

    You define a recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT) with the Output tab of a Deliver process in a Campaign flowchart. The table stores recipient IDs, email addresses, phone numbers for Push, SMS, and WhatsApp and additional personalization data and metadata that are selected and produced during the flowchart run.

    After you define the recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT), you must create the table and add recipient data. To create and populate the recipient list, you must complete a production run of the Campaign flowchart that contains the Deliver process that you used to define the list.

    An Output List Table is not required to personalize transactional messages. For transactional messages, corporate transaction management systems and a local transactional messagel client application provide the recipient information instead of an OLT.

      - Deleting a list referenced by an inactive mailing
        When you delete a recipient list that is referenced by an inactive messaging, the system removes the list immediately. The list is no longer available for reference by any other messaging campaign.
      - Deleting a list referenced by an active mailing
        When you delete a recipient list that is referenced by an active messaging, the system does not delete the list immediately. Instead, the system designates the list as a retired recipient list. When the messaging ompletes, Deliver deletes the recipient list, including the corresponding OLT and metadata in HCL Unica.
      - Deleted lists messaging by an aborted messaging
        If you delete a recipient list that is messaging by an active mailing, and then abort the mailing, Deliver designates the list as a retired recipient list. The aborted messaging campaign becomes inactive and its configuration indicates that the messaging campaign references a retired recipient list.
      - Deleting a recipient list referenced by multiple mailings
        A single recipient list can be referenced by more than one messaging. The effect of deleting the recipient list on the messaging campaigns depends on their current state.
      - Deleting a recipient list referenced by a mailing enabled for scheduling
        A messaging that is enabled for scheduling is in an inactive state until the scheduled job runs and sends a trigger to start a messaging run. Therefore, when you delete the recipient list that is referenced by a messaging that is enabled for scheduling, the system immediately deletes the Output List Table (OLT) and related metadata that is stored in HCL Unica.
    - To manually clear the OLT
      Sometimes, you must manually clear data from the output list table (OLT). For example, before you modify the output list table, you must clear data that is entered by a previous run of the process. You must also clear the OLT manually to remove obsolete data.
  - Automatic removal of inactive recipient lists
    Data retention practices observed in HCL Unica automatically remove an uploaded recipient list from HCL Unica when the list is inactive for more than 30 days. Removing the recipient list removes all personal data and metadata that is associated with individuals on the list.

Methods to delete a recipient list

You delete a recipient list by deleting the Deliver process that is used to create the list.

You can delete the Deliver process in either of the following ways.

Edit the flowchart to delete the Deliver process only
Delete the entire flowchart that contains the Deliver process

You perform these actions by opening the flowchart in Campaign. You can access the flowchart through a link on the Deliver Summary Mailing tab or by opening the flowchart tab in the campaign that contains the messaging.
