Running the Sametime Community Server installation program on IBM i

Run the installation program on the computer on which you plan to install an IBM® Sametime® Community Server.

Before you begin

You should have already installed IBM Domino®. If you intend to install from a downloaded image, you should have downloaded the Sametime Community Server installation package and created save files.

About this task

Use the IBM i command line to install the Sametime Community Server programs.

Procedure

  1. Log in using a profile with *ALLOBJ and *SECADM special authorities.
  2. From the IBM i command line, run the appropriate command.
    Installing from a downloaded image
    1. Use the RSTLICPGM command to install from the save files you created when you downloaded the installation package.

      This example uses the save files MYLIB/Q5724J23IM and MYLIB/Q5724J23WC.

    2. When you are prompted to accept the Sametime software agreement, you must accept it in order to continue.

    The system loads the Sametime programs to the appropriate libraries and /QIBM directories. You will see status messages as the system installs the software.
