Follow these steps to download the installation package
for the Sametime® Community
Server for IBM® i. If you are
installing from physical media, skip this step.
Procedure
- Log on to the IBM i
server where you will install Sametime Community Server,
using a profile that has *ALLOBJ and *SECADM special authorities.
- On any IBM i command
line, run the following commands to create a library plus the empty
save files that are needed for installing the latest version of Sametime software:
CRTLIB MYLIB
CRTSAVF MYLIB/Q5724J23IM
- From the server where you downloaded and extracted the
package, transfer the Q5724J23IM binary file to the IBM i server where you will install Sametime Community Server.
For example, you can transfer the file using FTP with the
following commands:
ftp Server_name_or_IP_address
username User_name
password password
bin
put Q5724J23IM MYLIB/Q5724J23IM
quit
