Canceling task groups

A task group can be canceled only when its status is inactive, working, ready for approval, or commit failed.

When you cancel a task group:

  • The task group and the tasks within it become read-only.
  • The canceled task groups and tasks will display in the Workspace Management tool only if you choose All (Canceled/Complete/Current) in the explorer filter.
  • The changes made in the task group are canceled.

If you have a task group in the inactive state that you want to completely remove from the system, you can delete the task group instead of canceling the task group. For instructions on deleting a task group, see Deleting task groups.

Important: If you cancel a task group while a contributor is working on one of its tasks, the contributor can continue making changes. To prevent this, ensure that no one is accessing a task in the task group you want to cancel.
