Configuring WebSphere Portal with WebSphere Commerce using basic authentication

To configure WebSphere Portal with WebSphere Commerce to use basic authentication, you must complete configuration tasks on each machine.

Complete the following steps:

1. On your WebSphere Commerce machine:
   • Configure basic authentication for WebSphere Commerce.
2. On your WebSphere Portal machine:
   1. Enable WebSphere Portal security with a LDAP user registry.
   2. Install the WebSphere Commerce sample portal application.
   3. Configure basic authentication for WebSphere Portal.
   4. Configure the sample portlets.
