The WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in enables communication between the web server and the WebSphere Application Server.

This option is available only if IBM HTTP Server is detected on the system and the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in for IBM HTTP Server is not detected.

Select this component to install the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in for IBM HTTP Server.
Notes:
  • The WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in has important restrictions on using parentheses characters in the path name. See Installing web server plug-ins
  • To install WebSphere Application Server web server plug-in fixes, you must use the WebSphere Application Server Update Installer version 7.0.0.3 or higher.

Procedure

  1. If you are installing WebSphere Commerce on the same machine as your web server, the WebSphere Commerce can install and configure the WebSphere Application Server plug-in automatically. If you want to install and configure the WebSphere Application Server plug-in manually, see the Installing web server plug-ins topic in the WebSphere Application Server Information Center.
  2. To configure your remote web server to communicate with WebSphere Commerce, you must install the WebSphere Application Server web server plug-ins on the web server node.
