Configuring an On-Demand Scan

About this task

This scan configuration will be saved apart from the default scan now settings. You can run it from the CPM Dashboard anytime to initiate an On-Demand scan that uses the saved settings and applies to the selected computers.

Procedure

  1. From the console menu, click Endpoint Protection on the bottom left pane.
  2. From the upper left navigation pane, go to Core Protection Module > Configuration > On-Demand Scan Settings > On-Demand Scan Settings Wizard. The On-Demand Scan Settings Wizard appears.
  3. Make your configurations choices (options are detailed in Exempting Programs from Spyware Detection).
  4. Click the Create Scan Now Task... button. The Create Task window opens.
  5. Edit the Name field and use the Description tab to edit it, so it clearly identifies the scan parameters you have selected and the computers you will target in this task.
  6. Select all the relevant computers from the Relevance tab and click OK. At the prompt, type your private key password and click OK.
  7. In the Action | Summary window that opens, monitor the "Status" and "Count" of the Action to confirm that it is "Running" and then "Completed".
  8. Close any open windows to return to the console view.
