Deleting an application occurrence

You can delete an application occurrence from the current plan by entering D in the row command field for the occurrence in the MODIFYING OCCURRENCES IN THE CURRENT PLAN panel. The scheduler then displays a confirmation panel showing all external dependencies for the occurrence. After your confirmation, all operations in the occurrence are deleted.

Note: If you are using the advanced panels, you delete an application occurrence from the TABLE ROW COMMANDS panel. For more information, see EQQSRCLP - Table Row Commands panel.

Except for conditional dependencies, for each operation in the deleted occurrence, HCL Workload Automation for Z automatically connects all its external predecessors to its external successors. By doing this, HCL Workload Automation for Z maintains the consistency of the network of operations. For conditional dependencies, network split cannot be prevented because the scheduler cannot redefine the rule criteria.

To prevent unwanted dependent operations from starting after the deletion, first change the external dependencies, as described in Changing external dependencies to an occurrence. Alternatively, you can HOLD or NOP a dependent operation from the list displayed.

Note: The scheduler retains the deleted occurrences for reporting purposes and to ensure that the long-term plan is updated if the occurrence exists in the long-term plan. So you cannot add another occurrence of the same application to the current plan with the same input arrival time as the deleted occurrence. You can display deleted occurrences using the QUERY CURRENT PLAN panel.
