To move work from a development stream to another project

About this task

To move work from a development stream to another project:

Procedure

  1. Get the activity selector of the activity. You can do this by entering the following command in your development view:

    cleartool lsactivity -long -cview

You can also get the activity selector by doing the following:
    1. Find the activity. For example, in HCL VersionVault Windows Explorer, use MyActivities.
    2. Right-click the activity and on the pop-up menu, click Properties.

On the General page in the Properties window, the ID field displays the activity selector.

  2. Write down the activity selector or copy it to the clipboard, and then close the Properties Browser if it is open.
  3. Join the project in which you intend to complete the work.
  4. Decide whether to add the work to the integration stream in the new project or to another development stream in the new project.
  5. From your view in the original project, deliver the work that you are moving to a nondefault target (the stream in the new project in which you intend to complete the work).

Use the activity selector from Step 2 to specify the work to be delivered.

  6. Lock (in the obsolete state) your development stream for the original project (see the lock reference page).
  7. Remove your development view for the original project.
