Backing up HCL VersionVault registry data

HCL VersionVault registry data is stored in ordinary files that must be backed up regularly.

About this task

HCL VersionVault registry data is kept in a group of files in the rgy directory on the registry server host.
  • On hosts running Linux® or the UNIX® system, the registry directory is /var/adm/hcl/versionvault/rgy.
  • On Windows® hosts, the registry directory is versionvault-home-dir\var\rgy.
On any operating system, all files in the registry directory should be backed up and restored together. In addition to backing up the rgy directory, back up the registry client list, which is not located in the rgy directory.
  • On hosts running Linux® or the UNIX® system, the client list is stored in /var/adm/hcl/versionvault/client_list.db.
  • On Windows® hosts, the client list is stored in versionvault-home-dir\var\client_list.db.

When you back up registry data, use a backup utility that can back up files that are open for writing.
