The HCL VersionVault registry

The HCL VersionVault registry provides a central repository of information about VOB and view locations, default values for various host HCL VersionVault settings, and other information that an HCL VersionVault community shares. Every HCL VersionVault host is assigned to (is a client of) a single registry server host. The registry server host can be any computer on which HCL VersionVault is installed.

An HCL VersionVault community is defined in part by use of a common registry. If the registry server host becomes unavailable or registry data becomes corrupted, users cannot access artifacts under HCL VersionVault control. For the most part, registry data is created, modified, and removed automatically, but there are some cases where administrative intervention may be required.

See Administering the HCL VersionVault registry for more information about the HCL VersionVault registry.
