Requirements for uploading data to HCL Unica hosted services

A Deliver component called the Recipient List Uploader (RLU) is part of your Unica Campaign installation. The RLU uses SFTP as a preferred mechanism to manage the upload of recipient lists and associated metadata to HCL Unica hosted services. It also supports FTP in passive mode as a legacy but deprecated mechanism for recipient list uploads.

Deliver uses SFTP to upload data. When using SFTP, the RLU initiates all upload connection requests as the local client. HCL Unica hosted services never initiates a connection request to your network.

Deliver supports two passive FTP methods, explicit FTP and implicit FTP. Explicit FTP is the default method used for uploading recipient lists. To use implicit FTP you must make changes in the Deliver configuration properties.

For more information about FTP in passive mode and using FTP over SSL, see RFC959 and RFC2228.
