Delivery of push notifications to a list

In Unica Campaign, you can use a flowchart to identify and select groups of mobile app users that share various characteristics. You can send a notification to each user by referencing the list to a notification push that you configure in Deliver. Depending on the flowchart design, you might select many individuals or just a few.

In the flowchart that you use to generate the list, you use an Deliver process to create the notification recipient list as an Output List Table (OLT). In the OLT, you define personalization fields that capture details about each individual in the list. The nature of the information that you store in your marketing database determines the personalization fields that you can define.

In the Quick Builder, a message designer incorporates the personalization fields as placeholders in the design of the message.

When you create an OLT for use with a notification push, you must define a personalization field that provides the mobile app user ID. This value is also known as the Install ID. The mobile app user ID identifies the specific combination of mobile device and mobile operating system on which your mobile app is running. The mobile app user ID serves as the delivery address for the app push notifications that you send.

When you send notifications to a list, you can schedule the notifications to be sent at a specific time or after the completion of a scheduled run of the flowchart. Sending notifications after a scheduled flowchart run helps to ensure that you have the most current recipient data possible.
