Checking Video MCU Server status

Check the status of the Sametime® Video MCU Server from a command line or from the Sametime System Console.

Procedure

  1. To check Video MCU Server status from a command line on the Video MCU Server, complete these steps:
    1. Log in to the Video MCU Server as root.
    2. Run this command:

      service soft_mcu status

      The server displays this message: soft mcu is up.

  2. To check MCU status from the Sametime System Console on the Video MCU Server, complete these steps:
    1. Log in to the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator.
    2. Click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Video MCU Servers.
    3. Click Active Alarms.
    4. Select the Video MCU Server name whose active alarms you are viewing.
    5. Check whether there are any error related alarms.

      The following table lists possible response codes and their meanings.

      0 Sametime Video MCU is running
      3 Sametime Video MCU is not running
      4 Sametime Video MCU is unavailable
      5 Sametime Video MCU has start-up issues
      SoftMcu service is up Sametime Video MCU gold build is running
      service: no such service soft_mcu Sametime Video MCU is not installed
      soft_mcu: unrecognized service Sametime Video MCU is not installed
