Finding ports for WebSphere Application Server-based applications

Follow these instructions to determine the ports used by the WebSphere® Application Server-based application servers: IBM® Sametime® Meeting Server, Sametime Media Manager, and Sametime Proxy Server.

About this task

The table that follows contains default values for a single node/appserver on a given host. You need to validate actual port numbers in the configuration.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Sametime System Console.
  2. Click Application servers > STMeetingServer or STMediaSever or STproxyServer > Ports.
  3. The following ports are used by Sametime application servers:

9443

Sametime Meeting Server, Sametime Proxy Server

These two ports are where traffic from the WebSphere HTTP Proxies are sent. The port number to use is listed as WC_defaulthost_secure and WC_defaulthost.

PROXY_HTTP_ADDRESS

PROXY_HTTPS_ADDRESS

8008

HTTP Server

Proxy Server Port and Proxy Server Secure Port. This is the HTTP server for Meeting Server and Sametime Proxy Server. Spreads the requests across the multiple cluster members.

SIP_DEFAULTHOST

SIP_DEFAULTHOST_SECURE

5061

Media Manger, SIP Proxy

Ports used by the Sametime Conference Manager and Sametime Video MCU components of the Media Manager

SOAP_CONNECTOR_ADDRESS

8880

Server to Server Connections

Used for administration of remote nodes and synchronization.

Used for server to server communication. The Sametime System Console accesses the Deployment Manager SOAP port. This port number varies, depending on how WebSphere Application System was installed. The port number can be determined by looking at AboutThisProfile.txt's SOAP connector port value in the profile log directory or the Integrated Solutions Console.

DCS_UNICAST_ADDRESS

Application servers and federated servers

Deployment Manager

High Availability Manager Communication Port

Handles inbound Distribution and Consistency Services (DCS) messages.

NODE_DISCOVERY_ADDRESS

7272

Attribute of the NodeAgent object that exists inside the server. Used by the deployment manager and other nodes to discover each other. The system uses this port to receive the incoming process discovery messages inside a node agent process.

CELL_DISCOVERY_ADDRESS

7277

Deployment Manager

Used by the node agents and servers to discover the Deployment Manager

BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS

2809

Bootstrap port

Used to tie members of the cell together.

WebContainer and SIP ports

Used when a load balancer or a WebSphere SIP proxy server is deployed in front of a cluster.
