Installing the stand-alone SIP Edge Proxy server

After you have installed the Sametime® SIP Proxy/Registrar server, and removed the Sametime functionality from that server, you are prepared to install the IBM® SIP Edge Proxy server.

About this task

Complete the following steps to convert the Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar to an IBM SIP Edge Proxy Server.

Procedure

  1. In the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console, log in as the WebSphere administrator to the deployment manager that manages the Sametime SIP Proxy/Registrar server.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere Enterprise Applications.
  3. Click Install.
  4. Select the local file system, then specify the fully qualified path to the SIP Edge Proxy application file (EdgeProxyAppl.ear) or use the browser to locate the file. The file should be located in the expanded Sametime Media Manager installation folder, SametimeMediaManager\SIPEdgeProxy directory.
  5. Click Next and leave the default selection until you reach the Map modules to servers page. Select a SIP Edge Proxy server to install the Edge Proxy application.
    Note: If there is only one SIP Edge Proxy server, that server is selected by default. If there is more than one SIP Edge Proxy server, select the appropriate server.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click Next until you reach the last wizard page and then click Finish.

    When the installation process is successful, this message is displayed: Application EdgeProxyAppl installed successfully.

  8. Click the Save link in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
