Creating the IBM SIP Edge Proxy cluster

You create an IBM® SIP Edge Proxy Server cluster manually. You do not use the Sametime® System Console.

Procedure

  1. In the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console, log in as the WebSphere administrator to the deployment manager that manages the IBM SIP Edge proxy server.
  2. Browse to Servers > Clusters > WebSphere Application Server clusters.
  3. Click New.
  4. Specify a name for the IBM SIP Edge proxy cluster, such as SIPEdgeCluster.
Note: Remember that when you create the first cluster member, a copy of it is stored as part of the cluster data. The copy of the first cluster member then becomes the template for all additional cluster members that you create.
  5. Specify a name of the first cluster member.
  6. Select the node on which you want this cluster member to reside.
  7. For Select how the server resources are promoted in the cluster, make sure that Cluster is selected from the list.
  8. Select the option Create the member by converting an existing application server, and then click Next.
  9. Continue with the installation and at the end click Finish.
