Troubleshooting a Sametime Media Manager Video Manager installation

Troubleshoot installation problems for the IBM® Sametime® Media Manager Video Manager.

The following examples show you ways to address issues you may encounter after installing the Media Manager Video Manager.

Problem: The Video Manager installation failed to update the default Conference template.
Solution: Change the values for the Default audio video template to update the Media Manager Default Policy.
  1. From the Sametime System Console, click Sametime System Console > Manage Policies > Media Manager.
  2. Select the Default Policy and click Edit.
  3. Modify the Default audio video template section with the following values:
    • Conference template name: Default Audio Video Template
    • Cascaded Conference: None
    • Conference mode: Mixed AVC and SVC
    • Conference mode experience: Optimized for mobile devices
    • Conference Line Rate: 384
    • Encryption: Encrypt when possible
    • Video quality: Sharpness
Problem: The Video Manager installation failed to create the SIP peer.
Solution: Create the SIP peer by completing the steps in Defining an external SIP peer for routing calls from the Video Manager.
Problem: Video Manager server needs to be reinstalled, but IBM Installation Manager fails with a message that the server is still running.
Solution: Complete the steps in the Tech Note Video Manager fails to uninstall.
