Adjusting user connections to the Sametime Proxy Server

The Sametime® Proxy Server allows you to change default connection settings for user logins.

About this task

Follow these steps to change user login settings on the Sametime Proxy Server.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Integrated Solutions Console.
  2. Click Sametime System Console > Sametime Servers > Sametime Proxy Server.
  3. In the Sametime Proxy Servers list, click Edit for the deployment name of the server with the connection information that you want to change.
  4. In the "User Settings" section, change any of these values:
    • Maximum number

The default value of -1 indicates that any number of users can connect. If you encounter performance slowdowns, you can set to a specific number greater than 0 to limit the number of users who can connect to the server at one time. Set the value to 0 to prevent users from connecting to the Proxy Server while you are troubleshooting a problem.

    • User login timeout

The timeout interval indicates the number of seconds to allow users to connect to the server. Increase the default of 30 seconds if users are having trouble connecting to the server.

    • Home server lookup

By default, the Sametime Proxy Server authenticates a user through the user's home server, a specific Sametime Community Server. To authenticate users against the Sametime Community Server that is connected to the Proxy Server, clear this checkbox.

  5. Click Save.
