Setting your status

Your online status includes your availability and status message. The top of the application menu displays this information . Tap your current status to make changes. Other logged-in Sametime users can see your online status.

About this task

After you log in, by default your status is set to available. You can change your availability status to show others that you are away, in a meeting, or do not want to be disturbed.

When you join a Sametime meeting, your status is automatically changed to In a meeting. You can prevent this from occurring by turning off the Update the status when in a meeting toggle switch.
Note: If you have set your status to In a meeting or Do not disturb, the auto-status function does not occur.

When you leave the meeting, your status returns to the previous state when you leave the meeting.

Procedure

  1. Click the drop-down arrow next to your current status which is located under your name.
  2. Select a status.
  3. To add a custom message or more details to your status, click Custom status message.

    A text field opens, where you can type a status message. For example, if you choose I am away, you might add a custom message such as At a doctor appointment.

    The message is removed when you select a different status.

  4. When you are finished, click the return arrow (return arrow icon).
