- Setting your status
Your online status includes your availability and status message. The top of the application menu displays this information . Tap your current status to make changes. Other logged-in Sametime users can see your online status.

You can use your mobile device as your chat client using the QR code provided in the Settings menu.

You can start a chat with anyone within your chat community.
- Starting a group chat
You can start a chat with a group that is part of your contacts.
- Inviting others to an existing chat
If you are in a text chat with one chat partner, you can quickly invite someone from your contact list to join the chat. A chat with more than two chat partners is referred to as a group chat.
- Reacting to a chat message
You can react to a message with one of the available reactions.
- Deleting chat messages
You can delete chat messages no longer needed or sent in error, provided that the Sametime administrator allows that option. The default deletion time is twenty-four hours and one hour to undo the deletion. These values can be changed by the administrator.
- Removing a participate from a group chat
Members in a group chat can be removed by any participant within the group chat. When a member is removed, a message is displayed with the removed user name and the person who removed the member.
- Sending an announcement
You can send a message to all the online members of a group simultaneously.
- Calling a contact
You can call a contact or group from the chat window.
