Sending an announcement

You can send a message to all the online members of a group simultaneously.

About this task

Recipients get the announcement as a pop-up alert on their clients unless you allow the recipients to respond to the message. In this case, a chat window opens in each recipient's Sametime window

Procedure

  1. Click the menu icon ( menu icon) in the navigator and select Contacts.
  2. Click the menu icon next to the contact or group name to send a message and click Send Announcement.
  3. In the Send Announcement dialogue box, type the message.
  4. To add additional people to the announcement, type a name in the Search for Recipients. As you type suggestions are provided. Click a name to add to the send list.
    To remove a recipient, click the delete icon (Delete icon.
  5. To , click Display as overlay banner
  6. To send the message, click Send.
