Creating a certificate store

The IBM® Sametime® Community Server supports three types of certificate stores: PKCS#12, CMS (KDB), and JKS. PKCS#12 is the recommended certificate store type.

About this task

Use the IBM iKeyMan utility to create a certificate store on the IBM Sametime Community Server. Create the certificate store by completing the following steps.

Procedure

  1. Start the IBM IKeyMan utility. See the topic Using iKeyMan to manage certificates for TLS.
  2. From the iKeyMan utility's menu, click Key Database > File > New.
  3. In the New dialog box, complete these fields and click OK:
    Table 1. Key database fields and descriptions
    Field Description
    Key database type Choose PKCS12, CMS, or JKS. PKCS12 is the recommended type.
    File name Assign any file name you choose.
    Location Enter the full path of the new certificate store file.
  4. In the Password dialog box, complete these fields and click OK:

    Field Description
    Password Enter the password you will use for accessing this certificate store.
    Confirm password Confirm the password by typing it again.

Results

The certificate store is created.
