Copying the Apple Push Notification service keystore to the Deployment Manager

If you have iOS mobile users, the Deployment Manager must have a local copy of the Apple keystore to enable SSL connections between the Sametime® Proxy Server and the Apple Push Notification service.

About this task

The Apple keystore is installed on the Sametime Proxy Server. These instructions explain how to copy the file to the cell's Deployment Manager. The Deployment Manager is usually the Sametime System Console if you installed the Sametime Proxy Server as a primary or secondary node. If you installed the Sametime Proxy Server with the Cell option, the Deployment Manager is on the same computer.

Procedure

  1. Locate the apns-prod.pkcs12 file in the primary node directory on the Sametime Proxy Server.

    For example:

    WebSphere_install_root/profiles/STPSNAppProfile/config/cells/cellName/nodes/stproxyPNNodename/apns-prod.pkcs12
Note: The profile name is not the name of your installed profile.
  2. Locate the Deployment Manager profile directory (not the Application Server profile directory) and the Sametime Proxy Server node directory under it.

    WebSphere_install_root/profiles/dmgrProfileName/config/cells/cellName/nodes/stProxyPNNodename

  3. Copy the apns-prod.pkcs12 file to the Sametime Proxy Server primary node directory under the nodes directory of the Deployment Manager profile.
  4. Copy the apns-prod.pkcs12 file to any additional secondary node directories under the nodes directory of the Deployment Manager profile.
  5. Synchronize the nodes and restart the STProxyServer and Nodeagent.
