Use a pre-configured Android device to generate a configuration
URL that you can distribute to Android or iOS mobile users to get
them started with meetings quickly.
Procedure
- On the pre-configured Android device, open the Sametime® application.
- Open the options menu and tap Settings.
- Tap Meeting Servers.
- Tap an existing server configuration to display the edit
dialog.
- Tap the share icon at the top of the dialog.
- Choose an application, such as a mail application, that
you would like to use to share the configuration URL.
Note: Some
Android mail clients will not recognize a configuration URL that uses
the
stmeetings:// protocol. Therefore, an
http:// version
of the configuration URL is also generated. When using a webpage for
distribution of the configuration, the
stmeetings:// version
of the URL can simply be placed in a normal HREF tag, such as:
<a href="stmeetings://.......">
<font size="4"> Your Link Name</font>
</a>
- Distribute the URL to users.
As long as users
have installed the IBM® Meetings
app on their devices, they can open the configuration link to create
the correct meeting server configuration for their devices automatically.
