Importing the Community Server's certificate into the Gateway Server cluster

Import the IBM Sametime Community Server SSL certificate into the Sametime Gateway Server cluster.

About this task

To ensure secure communications between the Sametime® Gateway Server and the Sametime Community Server, exchange certificates between the servers. Begin by importing the Community Server's certificate into the Gateway Server.

Procedure

  1. On the computer hosting the deployment manager for Sametime Gateway, log in to the WebSphere® Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere administrator.

    You can access the console using the following URL: https://GW_DMGR_host_name:9043/ibm/console

  2. Click Security > SSL certificate and key management > Key stores and certificates.
  3. On the Key stores and certificates page, select the CellDefaultTrustStore.
  4. For the value SSL configuration for outbound connection, select the SSL configuration that you manually created in the Defining the SSL configuration for a cluster task.
  5. Click Signer certificates > Retrieve from port.
  6. On the Retrieve from port page, provide the Community Server's host name and port 1516.
  7. Provide an alias for the Community's certificate.
  8. Click Retrieve signer information.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Update the master configuration by clicking Save in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
  11. Restart the Sametime Gateway deployment manager.
  12. Cluster: Synchronize all nodes in the cluster as follows:
    1. In the deployment manager's Integrated Solutions Console, click System Administration > Nodes.
    2. Select all available nodes and click Full Resynchronize.
  13. Restart the Gateway application server (for a cluster, restart all Gateway application servers).
