Verifying host names and ports for Bandwidth Manager servers

After adding ports to the virtual host names, verify that the host names resolve in DNS.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the deployment manager's Integrated Solutions Console as the WebSphere® administrator.
  2. Click Servers > Server Types > WebSphere proxy servers.
  3. In the table listing the servers, click the name of the proxy servers you are configuring.
  4. Click Ports.
  5. Review the host names for each of the ports and ensure they resolve in the DNS.
  6. If a host name does not resolve, click the port name that corresponds to it. For example, click BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS if it's corresponding host name is in the list of host names that do not resolve.
  7. In the Host field, specify a host name that does resolve properly. Click OK.
  8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 for any host names that do not resolve in DNS.
  9. Click Apply and then save the change to the master configuration by clicking the Save link in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
  10. In the navigation tree, click Servers > Server Types > WebSphere application servers.
  11. Click the server name whose ports you are verifying.
  12. Click Ports.
  13. Review the host names for each of the ports and ensure they resolve in the DNS.
  14. If a host name does not resolve, click the port name that corresponds to it. For example, click BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS if its corresponding host name is in the list of host names that do not resolve.
  15. In the Host field, specify a host name that does resolve properly. Click OK.
  16. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for any host names that do not resolve.
  17. Confirm all host names are correct.
  18. Click System administration > Deployment manager.
  19. Click Ports.
  20. Review the host names for each of the ports and ensure they resolve in the DNS.
  21. Repeat steps 14 and 15 for any host names that do not resolve.
  22. Confirm all host names are correct.
  23. Click Apply and then save the change to the master configuration by clicking the Save link in the "Messages" box at the beginning of the page.
  24. Synchronize the nodes in the cluster:
    1. Click System Administration > Nodes.
    2. Select both nodes, and then click Full Resynchronization.
