New calendar features
IBM® Notes® 10 provide the following new features and enhancements for the calendar.
Allow meeting attendees to invite others
A meeting chair can allow attendees to invite or propose other people to attend a meeting. This feature requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).

- Introducing Domino Mobile Apps
  IBM® Domino® Mobile Apps is a mobile client for the Apple iPad that allows you to work with your Notes applications. It is available from the Apple App Store. Domino Mobile Apps includes offline replication and touch optimization and it extends your Notes applications with device capabilities. For more information, see dma_using_domino_mobile_apps.html.

  - New workspace look
    The Notes workspace has a brand new look.
  - Custom color themes
    Choose an overall color theme for the Notes interface. Customize colors for specific parts of the interface.
  - Application user interface enhancements
    The interface for picking a date and buttons in applications has a new look.
  - Touch screen on Windows Tablet
    When you run Notes on a Windows Tablet, you can use touch gestures to perform any action.
  - Collapsible left navigator
    You can collapse or expand the left navigator of your Inbox, Calendar, Contacts, or To Do.
  - Quick contacts
    Use the Quick Contacts option to quickly add contacts with just the most commonly used information to your mail contacts list or personal address book. This features requires the IBM® Notes® 10 personal address book template (pernames.ntf) and Notes 10 mail template. (mail10.ntf)
  - More accurate results when searching attachments
    When you select the Index attached files option when creating a full-text index for an application, searches more accurately reflect the content of attachments.
  - Updated import and export file types
    When importing a file into a message, the Microsoft file types are more clearly named in the Files of type list and Lotus 1-2-3 and Symphony are no longer listed. Also, when importing or exporting a file to or from a view, the Lotus 1-2-3 type is no longer listed.
  - Images in web tables look better when copied
    When you copy a nested table that contains images from a web page into Notes, the images are correctly displayed.
  - Some preferences now enabled by default
    Three preferences are now enabled by default for new Notes installations. This enhancement requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).

    - Allow meeting attendees to invite others
      A meeting chair can allow attendees to invite or propose other people to attend a meeting. This feature requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
    - Delegate calendar but not Contacts
      You can delegate your calendar to someone while keeping your Contacts private. This feature requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
    - Apply Sender Colors to meetings
      If you use the Sender Colors feature to assign colors to particular people you receive mail from, you can now apply those colors to the meetings chaired by these people, too. This feature requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
    - Add calendar categories and assign colors at the same time
      You can add calendar categories right from the Category Colors preference tab. This feature requires the Notes 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).
    - Copy Into New - Calendar Entry copies online meeting details
      When you select a meeting invitation in your mail and then select More > Copy Into New > Calendar Entry > Meeting, any online meeting details are now copied.
    - Improved calendar interoperability with Outlook
      Meetings scheduled between IBM® Notes® and Microsoft™ Outlook work right out of the box. Administrators can still use the existing settings on the Client Detection tab in a Mail Settings policy to customize calendar interoperability settings.
    - Calendar overlay improvements
      If you use an iCal-based calendar feed (iCalendar feed) in Notes and the calendar changes frequently, you can set the calendar content to refresh automatically. In addition, in this release, your administrator may push a Notes application calendar, Google Calendar, or iCalendar feed to your Notes client.
    - Team calendar
      A team calendar enables everyone on a team to see the availability of team members and schedule meetings with team members. To use a team calendar, you create a mail file to contain the team calendar that is configured as a mail-in database.

Allow meeting attendees to invite others

A meeting chair can allow attendees to invite or propose other people to attend a meeting. This feature requires the IBM® Notes® 10 mail template (mail10.ntf).

When you schedule a meeting, there is a new field, Allow attendees to invite others, with the following options:

Allow (Default) Allows attendees to use the Invite Others button in the invitation to propose others to attend. You decide which proposed attendees, if any, to invite.
Allow and auto-accept Allows attendees to use the Invite Others button to send invitations automatically to others without requiring your approval.
Don't allow. Prevents attendees from proposing or inviting additional attendees.

Note: This feature is not supported on IBM® iNotes®, IBM Verse®, or IBM® Traveler devices.
