Using HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook
With the HTMO 3.0.0 release, we changed the name of IBM mail support for Microsoft Outlook (IMSMO) to HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook (HTMO). HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook (HTMO) provides you with Mail, Calendar, and Contacts features so that you can work with your HCL Domino mail directly in your Microsoft Outlook interface.

    You can save your login password so that you no longer need to provide daily. If you do, HTMO remembers your password and authenticates you in the background unless you change your password or it expires.

    When you first install and set up HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook (HTMO), existing mail that is more than 30 days old is not synced to Outlook. HTMO users with HCL Verse™ subscriptions can use the Mail Search feature to find older email on their mail servers and display it in Outlook.

    When addressing a new email or meeting invitation, you can automatically look up names in your organization through the Address Book Provider.

Installing and configuring HTMO

Read the requirements. Then, install and setup HCL Traveler for Microsoft™ Outlook.

Migrating from IMSMO to HTMO

If you are migrating from IBM Mail Support for Microsoft Outlook (IMSMO) to HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook (HTMO), be aware that the Outlook profile created for IMSMO cannot be used by HTMO. HTMO provides a tool to migrate an IMSMO profile to an HTMO profile. You can also delete the IMSMO profile and create an HTMO profile from scratch. Also be aware that the mail datastore used by IMSMO cannot be used by HTMO, so all mail, calendar, contact, and todo information will have to resync to the client after the migration. The user will see this as a delay during the initial sync after the HTMO installation. If many clients are migrating at the same time, the initial sync delays may be even greater, because of increased processing and network traffic during the initial syncs.

Complete the following steps:

Download and run the HTMO installer. For more information, see Downloading the mail client and Installing HCL Traveler for Microsoft Outlook.
Create a new profile for HTMO. For more information, see Configuring a Microsoft Outlook profile for HTMO.
Once verified that your new HTMO profile is functional, delete your old IMSMO profile.
