Defining a Personalization rule

You use the Personalization element to define a new personalization rule or select an existing personalization rule or content spot.

Procedure

  1. Click New to create a personalization rule.
  2. Click Search to search for and select an existing personalization rule or content spot.
    1. Select a personalization rule or content spot and then click OK.
  3. Click Edit to edit a selected personalization rule.
  4. Click Clear to remove a selected personalization rule.
    Important: If the "New" button was used previously to create the personalization rule, the personalization rule is deleted and cannot be restored.
  5. Enter the total number of items to display in the Results per page field.
  6. Specify the formatting options that are used to display the Personalization element.
    Enter text, tags, and code into the design fields.
    • The text that is entered in the Header and Footer designs will appear before and after the displayed results.
    • The text that is entered into the Design for each search result field defines the format of each result.
    • The text that is entered into the Separator field appears between each displayed result.
