Configuring parameterized build on Windows

The topics in this section explain how to set up the parameterized build sample scripts to run on a Windows® server and how to set up a Windows ClearCase® client to run the scripts.

Before you begin

Before setting up parameterized build, you need to have installed and configured the Remote Build server. See the following topics for more information:

You also need to understand the rccbuild command and build scripts. See the following topics for more information:

In preparation for the configuration tasks listed below, you need to gather a list of parameterized build users, their Windows user IDs, and their TSO user IDs. This information is required for setting up the Windows environment.

About this task

The following procedure describes an approach to configuring and using parameterized build. Each step in the following procedure contains links to more information. Many of the steps also include sample scripts and programs that you can use as a starting point for creating your own parameterized build operations.

Procedure

  1. Setting up the Windows environment.
  2. Configuring the build project VOB.
  3. Configuring the view elements.
  4. Customizing the build scripts.
  5. Setting up a test environment.
  6. Starting and stopping the Remote Build server.

What to do next

After you have configured parameterized build, DevOps Code ClearCase, TSO Client, Rational® Developer for System z®, and Eclipse users can use the build scripts to submit their z/OS artifacts to the mainframe from the ClearCase Explorer, the Windows Explorer, the UNIX® command line, the TSO Client interface, or the Rational Developer for System z or Eclipse workbench.
