z/OS® Extensions is a component of IBM® Rational® ClearCase® that enables mainframe users to perform select DevOps Code ClearCase operations. z/OS Extensions include Remote Build, TSO Client, and ClearCase RAM (CCRAM).

Hardware and software requirements for z/OS Extensions features

To install the z/OS® Extensions features, your systems need to meet these hardware and software requirements.

Each DevOps Code ClearCase® z/OS Extensions feature is composed of a mainframe and a nonmainframe component. All communication between these components occurs through a TCP/IP connection.

Mainframe components require an operating system software level of z/OS Release 1.09 or later and can be run in any hardware environment that supports the required software.
Nonmainframe components require the services of DevOps Code ClearCase.
CCRAM requires Rational® Developer for System z® version 7.0 or later. CCRAM also requires z/OS Extensions version 7.0.1.1 or later.
