Denying access to a user

Deny a user access to the HCL Connections Mobile Server application.

About this task

Using the Mobile Administration console, you can control which users can access your HCL Connections servers. When users log in for the first time, they and their devices automatically have access. However, you can deny access to specific users. Conversely, you can restore access to users whom you previously blocked.

To deny access to a user, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. Log in to the Mobile Admin console and click Users.
  2. Optional: Enter search terms for a specific user in the Enter the Search Terms box and press Enter or click the Search icon.
  3. Click the row for the user to open the User Details record and then click Deny Access.
  4. Confirm your choice. The view refreshes and the Access allowed column displays Deny in the row for the blocked user.

Results

The blocked user can no longer log in to HCL Connections.

When the blocked user tries to connect to the HCL Connections server, a message is displayed to indicate that the user is denied access.

What to do next

To restore access for a blocked user, click the row for the user and click Allow Access.
